CANNABIS PACKAGING POUCH BAG

CANNABIS POUCH FILM MATERIAL BARRIER CHARACTERISTICS

The barrier characteristics of cannabis pouches are crucial for keeping cannabis products fresh and viable. It is typical for cannabis products to be subjected to temperature and humidity extremes as they make their way through the supply chain. Elevated temperatures and humidity are common in non-climate controlled cargo holds. These temperature and humidity shifts can degrade both the pouch itself as well as the cannabis product inside. Partnering with the right cannabis packaging partner and sourcing the right cannabis packaging is critical for the success of your cannabis business as well as your cannabis products.

Our Cannabis Packaging Engineers are experts at performing both OTR and MVTR testing to ensure that all Dura-Pack cannabis pouches and bags have the strongest barrier available providing the maximum shelf life to cannabis flower, CBD products and THC infused edibles.

OTR (Oxygen Transmission Rate) – The rate as which oxygen can permeate through a given film or substrate is typically expressed as cc/m2/24hr or cc/100 in2/24hr and is measured by an instrument with oxygen and nitrogen on opposing sides of the film in a test chamber.

MVTR (Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate) – The rate at which gaseous H20 can pass through a given pouch film or substrate and is typically expressed as g/m2/24hr or g/100 in2/24hr and is measured by an instrument with dry nitrogen and controlled high (100% RH) humidity on opposing sides.
